On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Police in South Africa arrested a married woman identified as Mapula Florah Manaka to serve the next 27 years in prison for planning the incidental murder of her husband, Archie Manaka, 43 years’ old man who was an IT specialist in Polokwane, South Africa.
According to local news, On April 8, 2020, the deceased was attacked and repeatedly stabbed at his residence, in what was thought to be a home invasion robbery.
When the police questioned the deceased’s wife, she said; “that three unidentified individuals forced their way into the home, beat her husband, stole an undisclosed sum of money, a laptop, and fled the scene when the police arrived.”
A police investigation was launched with a Special Task Team made up of the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit, and Provincial Crime Intelligence Unit to have suspects arrested and prosecuted.
A few months after the incident, the deceased man’s wife, her lover, Agrinate Makhubela, 27, and his accomplice were all detained.
Agrinate Makhubela, the accused’s boyfriend, is still facing legal proceedings as of this writing while the defendant received a 20-year jail term for murder and a 7-year sentence for murder conspiracy.
