GES Gives Directive to All Regional Directors About the End of Term Assessment at the Basic School Level

As usual, the Basic School academic calendar makes provision for short breaks where students and teachers go on vacations. Just about a week more to the end of the first term in the 2022 academic year, management of the Ghana Education Service has issued a directive particularly to all regional directors of education. This concerns the assessment of learners in specific subject areas at the various levels from the Kindergarten to the Junior High levels.

In a letter dated 30th March, 2022 and signed by the Deputy Director General, Mr. Anthony Boateng, all regional Directors are reminded to ensure that assessment is done for students at all levels in the basic schools.

The schedules given are as follows;

KG – LOWER PRIMARY-Numbering and Literacy

UPPER PRIMARY-English and Mathematics

JUNIOR HIGH-Core Subjects

The letter continues to say that there should be class tests and exercises in all other subjects. Also the examination should be managed by the various District Education Offices and supervised by the District Examination Committees. Check letter below;
